    Copy editing comes after all the heavy lifting (like developmental and content edits) is done.
    Think of it as the fresh lineup before the photoshoot—tighten it up, sharpen the flow, and make sure everything’s clean and correct.

    When your manuscript is ready for copy editing, use our price calculator to get your free quote.
    All you gotta do is:
    • Pick your turnaround time (3, 4, 5, or 7 days).
    • Drop in your manuscript’s word count.
    • Boom—instant pricing, no strings.

  • Step 2: Send a Sample

    Before you pay, here’s how we roll:
    1. Send us 5 pages from the manuscript you want edited.
    2. Review the sample we return. If you vibe with our work, and only if you’re fully
    satisfied with the quality, go ahead and lock it in.
    3. Make your payment and upload the same manuscript file for full editing.

    Heads up: Making a payment means you’re good with our work and you're agreeing to our Terms & Conditions. That’s the green light to begin.

  • Step 3: Order Review & Tech Check

    Once we receive your manuscript and payment, here’s what happens behind the scenes:
    • Your UCE rep double-checks that the word count and payment match up.
    • Then, our tech team reviews your manuscript to make sure fonts and layout play nice
    with our editing system.
    • You’ll get a Project Status Notification within 4 hours (between 8am and 8pm, CST).

  • Project Status: What to Expect

    1. If accepted: You’ll receive your delivery date, your contract, and confirmation of your
    chosen timeframe via email.
    2. If denied: Your rep will either:
    - Suggest what needs to be tweaked for compatibility, or
    - Issue a full refund within 24 hours (next business day), no hard feelings.

  • Step 4: Delivery & Client Review

    Once your manuscript’s been fully copy edited and sent back, you’ll have 10 days to review the
    work.
    We stand behind our edits 100%. The quality you saw in the 5-page sample? That’s the
    standard we deliver throughout. If we slip (rare, but hey—we’re real), and the edit doesn’t match the sample’s quality due to a tech issue or glitch, we’ll redo the job at no cost.
